I have written before about the amount of 10th anniversary album tours that have been going on lately. This past Tuesday I was able to attend another one, Finch celebrating their incredible album, What It Is To Burn. They rolled into Irving Plaza with The Almost opening the show.
I have shot at Irving many times and have found the lights to be spotty at best. They were absolutely brutal for The Almost, and frankly I am not overly thrilled with these shots. But I did manage to get a couple that were usable.
Finch took the stage a short time later and they did their best to bring the house down. They sounded exactly how you would hope they sound- like they hadn't missed a step.
They played all of What It Is To Burn, of course ending with the title track. They also mixed in some songs from their Falling Into Place EP . The NYC city crowd was on fire for their whole set, many times with eyes closed, singing along.
