I started shooting music in March of 2011. Pretty much as soon as I started shooting I said that I wanted Justin Timberlake to drop a new album and tour. Shooting his show was always on my list of must haves. On Tuesday night he came to Barclays Center and that dream came true for me. It was opening night of his 20/20 tour and I was there to cover the show.
In the last year he has dropped two exceptional albums. He had a successful run of dates with Jay Z earlier this year, but his current tour is 100% him. I lucked out again when I found out that The Weeknd would be opening up for him. The Weeknd is also someone I have been wanting to shoot for a while, so it was a nice bonus. He has his stage set up in the middle of Barclays and he did his very best to reach out to every single person in those Brooklyn seats.
The Weeknd played a short set and shortly thereafter Justin Timberlake took the stage. A huge, elaborate stage at that. The production for his show was top notch. Not to mention the 3 plus hour sets he has been playing. 3 hours seems like a lot, but at a JT show it never feels like too much. You never feel bored or wishing that the show would just end.
Professionally, it was a great night for me. But also as a someone who is a fan of music, it doesn't get much better than what Justin Timberlake is currently doing. His tour just kicked off. It is going everywhere. Just go. Leave your reservations and hang ups at the door and go have an amazing time. You won't regret it.
